ML Models for Diagnosis of Pneumonia

Machine learning models can reduce the time needed to diagnose based on medical images, but need large quality data sets to provide accurate diagnosis. A team of researchers from Ulm University and the University Hospital of Ulm based in Germany have come up with a novel way to create a deep learning model using a limited dataset of 1082 chest x-ray images annotated by an expert radiologist to accurately diagnose pneumonia.
