A Deep Learning Model to Predict Protein-DNA Sequence Binding Specificity

A team of researchers from University of Southern California have created a deep learning model based AI tool called Deep Predictor of Binding Specificity (DeepPBS). When data structures of a protein-DNA complex are input into this tool, it provides binding specificity of a protein to a DNA sequence, replacing the need for high-throughput sequencing or structural biology experiments to reveal protein-DNA binding specificity. This tool has the potential to time required to develop new therapeutic solutions.  To learn more read https://www.nature.com/articles/s41592-024-02372-w
